The added benefit of a FeverCheckerPro is the advanced software that enables you to monitor, analyse and evaluate the data retrieved from the device. This data can be used for customer loyalty incentives, monitoring peak trading times or simply to track the footfall within the business.

Simply plug the device into a wall socket and it will be ready to use immediately. Just walk up to the device, make sure your forehead is in the frame and the red dot in the centre of your forehead. Your temperature will be taken automatically within 1 second, along with other selected parameters such as facial identification, mask detection and vaccine checks.

If the system is being used outside, it is recommended that the optional hood and cover are used to protect the system from mild weather variations. Further options include a choice of batteries where mains power is not available.

It is not recommended to use the system outside during heavy rain, high wind, direct sunlight etc as these conditions could impact performance and can give misleading readings.

The temperature guns are almost entirely uncalibrated and give inaccurate readings. They typically give readings that are 1/1.5 degrees below actual temperature, which therefore gives false reassurances to health conditions. Secondly, the accuracy of the measurement depends on where the gun targets the head, which can be inconsistent as it is operator dependant.

The system will alert you if your temperature is above the pre-set threshold which is typically 37.5°C and you can choose to seek medical attention. Although a high temperature may not always mean that you have COVID-19 you could have another fever-related illness such as flu, sepsis or pneumonia. It is always better to treat these symptoms sooner rather than later to reduce their severity.

The crucial factor in working out the number of and type of devices is footfall, or in other words, how many people will you need to check per hour at peak footfall. As a guide, each temperature check takes less than a second and if facial recognition is used allow 2 seconds per person (plus time for that person to walk up to and away from the device).
